Katsina State Government Eases Burdens with 40,000 Bags of Rice Distribution

On Sunday, September 3rd, 2023, Honorable Faruq Lawal Jobe, Deputy Governor of Katsina State, took a significant step toward alleviating the financial challenges faced by our people. He presided over the launch of the distribution of 40,000 bags of rice on behalf of His Excellency, Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, Ph.D., in Kankara Local Government.

The main aim of this initiative is to help our citizens cope with the economic challenges resulting from the removal of fuel subsidies by the federal government. Deputy Governor Jobe, in his address, urged all those entrusted with the distribution task to perform their duties with utmost integrity and ensure that this assistance reaches every corner where it is needed.

He also offered a heartfelt prayer for lasting peace in Katsina State and an end to the security challenges faced by some regions within our state.

This distribution program, made possible by the proactive efforts of Katsina State Government, aligns with the first disbursement of N2 billion palliative funds released by the Federal government. The distribution committee will ensure that five bags of rice reach every polling unit in the state.

The committee members include local government council chairmen, members of the Katsina State House of Assembly, state executive council members, district heads, and representatives from various religious sects.

Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, Ph.D., has directed all executive council members to be present in their respective local governments to oversee the fair and equitable distribution of rice from the local level down to the polling units. Additionally, council members are responsible for selecting beneficiaries, primarily focusing on the most vulnerable members of our society.

To guarantee transparency and fairness, the government has established monitoring mechanisms. The Katsina State governor  Malam Radda urges all committee members to ensure a transparent and equitable distribution process.

This initiative is a testament to the commitment of the Katsina State Government to the welfare of its citizens. We believe that by working together, we can overcome the challenges before us and ensure a brighter future for the people of Katsina people.
